Why (and how) to book your holiday with a personal holiday planner

Planning a villa holiday in Greece? Greece is known to have the most glorious beaches and turquoise seas, teamed with breath-taking views, friendly locals and amazing food. But where to start when looking for the perfect villa for your group of friends or family? It might be a bit overwhelming when it comes to navigating the details and it also requires some time, research and work, even if you are the “organiser” in your group of friends. Why not have your own personal holiday planner and make it all easier?
We sat down with Rania Gouvatsou – our own private holiday planner at Sirtaki Events for a one-on-one conversation about the growing trend of booking a villa holiday in Greece and hiring a personal planning service for planning the perfect holiday.
So what exactly is a personal holiday planner?
In today’s world where everything is at the tip of our fingers, it is easier than ever to book your next holiday using an app or a website. Although this can sometimes seem like the easiest way to do it, many travellers are missing the personal touch which is the biggest benefit of using a personal planner, in addition to saving you time and giving you peace of mind!
Rania explains that a personal holiday planner will do all the leg work for you. “You will not have to spend hours in front of the computer researching, reading reviews and comparing prices, when using a planner you can book with confidence knowing that everything has been tested and chosen for you carefully, exactly according to your specific desires and needs”.
All you need to do is provide us a list of your requests, and we will do the rest.
A Personal planner means you have direct connection to any service you might need without worrying about anything, including booking local and authentic culinary spots, exclusive wine tastings or any trips or activities that are just right for you and your family or guests. From finding the perfect villa for you, arranging private transportation (whether it’s a limousine service you are after or a wild motorcycle ride!) to an exclusive private candle light dinner prepared by a top chef, we will even stock the fridge with you favourite food and snacks- we can arrange for just about anything your heart desires
Why book a Villa holiday?
When you go on holiday, all you want is to be able to relax and switch off. When you hire a private property such as a villa, you are able to do exactly that, away from the crowd so it can be the ideal holiday for families and groups.
A villa can be a private, home away from home, for however long you decided to rent it for. This means that immediately upon arrival you will feel relaxed and comfortable, with no hotel entertainment and staff around you or evening curfews. “Just do what you want, when you want and how you want” says Rania.
Also, if you are into sustainability, you might want to consider a villa as it is instantly more sustainable than a hotel or a resort – they are not using as much energy. Some villas are even leading the way in being eco – friendly with their own green practices, using sustainable products and solar energy.
Why is a villa recommended for a group?
“A villa is great for a group for a few reasons, mainly because as mentioned – it is private!” says Rania. Holidays are all about relaxing with the people you love, and staying in a villa means you have the whole space to yourself and your guests. Villas are great for special celebrations or parties, for any group size and often come with any added services and activities that can be tailored especially for your group, such as boat trips, house spa treatments, private dinners and more.
A villa holiday is also more flexible and cost-effective. A villa means gathering a group together and splitting the costs which often will come up less per night than a hotel. Meaning you will have more money for the fun stuff!
Can I use a personal planner for any other holiday types, not only for villas?
Greece is my home so I might be biassed , but everywhere has its own beauty and unique charm and I invite everyone to come and visit beautiful Greece. In the last few years, we have seen that people are looking for less touristy areas, beyond the known places such as Santorini and Mykonos. In which case I heartily recommend; Evia Island, The Peloponnese or Paros Island.

My greatest satisfaction at work is the ability to meet the needs of each and every customer, and seeing our guests come back for another holiday or to celebrate another event with us.
And to sum it up – there is nothing like meeting people when they are on holiday, that is when they are happy and relaxed and you get to meet them at their best, making everything so much more fun.
